What public transport is available?

Public transport options in the area include TransLink bus routes 200, 285, 286, 289, 284, 280, 287, and 288. These buses currently operate services from Riverway Drive at Riverway Plaza, Rasmussen.

Specifically, bus route 200 runs through to Willows in Kirwan, Townsville Shopping Centre in Aitkenvale, Townsville Railway Station in the city, and through the city out to Breakwater Terminal. These routes provide convenient access to various destinations within Townsville and surrounding areas.

A proposed bus stop* is planned for future transportation connections, pending alignment of the community population with the criteria required to establish such a stop. We will work with relevant authorities to ensure compliance with established criteria as the community evolves.

Does Somers & Hervey flood?

Somers & Hervey has been designed to current flood immunity standards being a 1 in 100yr event.  The conservation/wetland corridors not only offer a tranquil setting and natural habitats promoting biodiversity, but they also serve as an important stormwater drainage function.

Somers & Hervey also benefits from underground electrical, sewer, water, and telecommunication networks. Additionally, provision has been made to service Somers & Hervey with NBN connection.

Is there gas available?

Reticulated gas is not available to the estate, however individual household services can be established via your builder and preferred gas supplier.

When did construction commence?

Construction of the Dotswood Precinct, began in July 2023. This precinct encompasses the main entry point, located off South Beck Drive, marking the initial stages of development within the estate.

Who maintains the landscaping and parks throughout Somers & Hervey?

Landscaping and parks at Somers & Hervey will be initially maintained by the developer, Urbex. After a duration of two years, responsibility for future maintenance will be passed to Townsville City Council.

Absolutely, the Building Covenant and Housing Design Guidelines are fundamental directives governing all aspects of housing building requirements within our community. These essential documents, along with service plans, are easily accessible via the ‘Building‘ tab on our website for convenient downloading. Additionally, we provide an online housing design assessment portal where residents can conveniently submit their housing submissions for assessment.

Remember to bring a water bottle, as there is no water available at the summit.
